David joined Cenfri in 2012 as knowledge manager responsible for bringing together and packaging Cenfri's work in inclusive financial services, supporting projects across sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Latin America. In this role, he has worked with the research teams to produce and share knowledge generated through Cenfri’s Making Access Possible (MAP) financial inclusion diagnostic programme, the insight2impact data facility and microinsurance and retail payments thematic work. He has coordinated and developed open-enrolment and in-housing trainings on microinsurance and national payment systems in Kenya, Malawi, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

He was part of the core team responsible for generating the Making Access Possible (MAP) global insight series which drew on research conducted in Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Myanmar, Swaziland and Thailand and explored the behaviour of government, providers and consumers in the market for financial services. He has also generated research focused on the potential of mobile phones and technology more broadly to unlock valuable and viable financial services in developing countries.

Before joining Cenfri, David worked as a fellow at the ILO's Microinsurance Innovation Facility in Geneva, Switzerland, supporting the activities of the knowledge team. Prior to that, David worked as an assistant project manager at the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) in Bangkok, Thailand.
