Insights for the financial sector

Over the past few months, Financial Sector Deepening Uganda (FSDU), in partnership with Old Mutual Africa, UAP Old Mutual Uganda and Cenfri, has conducted research into the key risks and challenges that MSMEs in Uganda face and testing the viability of various resilience-enhancing solutions that could help MSMEs overcome these challenges.

We would like to invite you to a webinar on 8 November 2021 at 13h30 SAST that explores some of the key needs and contextual realities of MSMEs in Uganda and highlights viable solutions that can address the key risks that MSMEs face. We will also be focusing on providing insights into how insurers can overcome some of the challenges that they themselves face when trying to reach MSMEs, thereby enabling them to serve this crucial target market more effectively and sustainably.

In the webinar, we will discuss:

  • Emerging opportunities and approaches for insurers to effectively reach and serve MSMEs, with a particular focus on the opportunities presented by value-chain based segmentation and aggregation
  • The key needs and contextual realities of MSMEs in Uganda, across four focus value chains
  • Solutions that have the potential to address the key risks that MSMEs face
  • Insights into how insurers can overcome some of the challenges faced when trying to reach MSMEs
