Amina Khan


Drawing on her foundation as a Chartered Accountant, Amina began her career in the public sector at the Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA). So began her passion for social impact through sound financial management.  

 Subsequently, Amina joined a global investment manager focused on ethical financial products aligned with Islamic investment principles. She then transitioned to one of SA’s largest digital banks (which has a primary focus on serving low-income clientele) where she led a finance team responsible for the business development, technology, and client experience delivery divisions.  

 She has also participated in projects and research relating to the establishment of a blockchain-enabled carbon credit marketplace, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), open banking, and leveraging the network effects of digital products. 

Presently, Amina is pursuing her studies in Africa’s first Master’s degree specialising in fintech at the University of Cape Town.  

 Outside of work, Amina enjoys traveling, spontaneous road trips with her husband and doting on her cats.
