Sabelo Zwane


Sabelo is a versatile legal professional with over decade of experience in financial services regulation, enforcement, policy & market development, project, and stakeholder management. 

 He joins Cenfri as an Engagement Manager and has previously worked in a variety of legal roles for organisations such the Registrar for Insurance and Retirement Funds, the Financial Services Ombudsman in both Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) and in the United Kingdom. He also worked as as a Legal Manager providing legal support services to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority in Eswatini. 

 Prior to joining Cenfri, Sabelo worked as the Deputy Director for the Fintech and Innovation Division at the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) where he oversaw the implementation of the Fintech and Innovation Strategy of the CBE, project management of the bank’s CBDC project, as well as chaired the Eswatini Fintech Working Group. 

 As an afro-optimist, Sabelo is a market and innovation development enthusiast with a passion for leading and directing research projects on emerging technologies in order to better understand and identify innovations that can help promote financial inclusion and increase efficiency in the financial sector across the continent. 

 In his spare time, Sabelo enjoys running his wood and steel furniture business and hiking along side his dogs whilst exploring the beautiful Kingdom of Eswatini.
