Kinyanjui Mungai is a Senior Research Analyst currently working in the Rwanda Economy Digitalisation Programme where he focuses on research, data analysis and providing payments advisory on policy considerations. Prior to this programme, his work at Cenfri had focused on several payments and digitalisation related projects including the Eswtaini CBDC diagnostic, The Pacific Island Digital Identity Diagnostic, and the Eswatini National Payments Vision and Strategy, among others. Kinyanjui’s key interests are in better understanding the opportunities for innovation in the African continent.

  • PhD in Economics with a focus on financial inclusion, the University of the Western Cape
  • M.Com in Economics, the University of the Western Cape
  • B.Com Honours in Economics, the University of the Western Cape
