Lezanne’s work at Cenfri is focused on advancing inclusive financial integrity and enabling digital transformation. She works on projects and programmes that aim to combat money laundering, financing of terrorism and proliferation financing, while mitigating the impact of unintended consequences such as financial exclusion and de-risking.

In these projects, Lezanne works with a range of stakeholders in a variety of ways. She has supported policymakers and regulators to align with international best practices and global standard-setting bodies, and assisted market players in innovating within their regulatory frameworks to better serve new and potential customers, specifically persons in marginalised and hard-to-reach communities.

Recent highlights
  • Supporting remittance service providers in Africa to enhance their know-your-customer, customer due diligence, and risk frameworks to enhance remittance access for low-income, rural households and women.
  • Working with policymakers and regulators to develop a fintech policy and strategy.
  • Conducting a pilot to introduce Africa’s first legal entity identifier agent and issuing the first legal entity identifier to an MSME (and exploring the potential that this would have for supporting female-owned MSMEs to access trade finance)
