Simphiwe Sigauke


Simphiwe is an admitted attorney. After pursuing corporate law for a few years, she opted for roles that would enable her to impact government policy. She became a policy researcher for an opposition political party and then worked as an intern in a South African provincial government Policy and Strategy Unit. She is interested in development policy, particularly in creating regulatory frameworks that advance economic development and allow for greater economic inclusion of the marginalised. 

She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and exploring the arts.  

 Qualifications 
  • Master of Commerce Degree in Economic Development, University of Cape Town  
  • Honours Degree in Economics (with distinction) from Rhodes University.  
  • Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce
