Stefan is the Technical Director for Data and AI at Cenfri. As a leader in digital, data & AI, and business strategy, he has extensive experience in the financial services and information technology sectors, with a strong focus on strategic business engagement underpinned by analytical insight. His strength lies in leveraging the data disciplines to unlock value through insights-driven decision-making.
Stefan leads the Data for Digital Agriculture Transformation joint programme in Tanzania, a collaboration led by the UNCDF. In this role, he drives the technical vision for data interoperability and the secure exchange of data between public and private sector players to overcome data silos, ultimately empowering smallholder farmers.
He also contributes to the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive data and AI strategy for Cenfri, enhancing internal AI capabilities and developing a responsible AI governance framework.
Outside of work, Stefan is passionate about transformation in individuals, families, and communities. He brings this to life on soccer fields and in soup kitchens, serving and leading local impact in Cape Town.
