Louise initially trained as an agricultural economist before embarking on a 30-year career that has encompassed research, research management, policy advice and management consultancy in the public sector in both southern and northern hemispheres. She has built up considerable experience of research, project and programme management in interdisciplinary organisations. She has worked as a consultant to major international donors and to government departments around the world.
Louise’s previous position was head of the Digital Societies team at the London-based think tank ODI, where she was tasked with building a cross-institute initiative from a blank sheet of paper. This introduced her to Cenfri’s work and led to regular, fascinating discussions about how to improve digital and financial inclusion.
Louise recently stepped back from full-time employment to spend a year focusing on her PhD, on the practices and processes of evidence-informed policymaking within government departments.
