Pieter Janse van Vuurenis a Senior Associate and Data Analyst in Cenfri’s data team. Within the Rwanda Economy Digitalisation (RED) Programme he leads education and agriculture research and data analytics, supporting the Rwandan government in developing evidence-based, inclusive policies aimed at alleviating poverty and digitalising the economy.
Pieter joined Cenfri in 2018, initially focusing on market development, financial inclusion, and insurance. His research experience covers Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia. As a quantitative enthusiast, he played key roles in developing Cenfri’s African Digital Platforms and updating our Insurtech Tracker. Before Cenfri, he worked as an economic analyst at GreenCape, providing analytical support and economic insight across green tech, agriculture, and agri-processing initiatives.
Pieter holds a master’s degree in economics and specialies in bridging econometrics, survey analysis, and business intelligence (Power BI, SQL) to inform decision-making. Outside of work, he is a father of two and enjoys reading, theology, DIY, and ultimate frisbee.
