Prior to joining Cenfri as a Research Analyst in January 2022, James worked as a Development Economist at an economic development consultancy, where his work focused on economic impact assessments, feasibility studies and programme reviews within a variety of sectors and industries in the South African economy.
Before beginning his working career, James studied at Rhodes University. He has a broad academic background, where he combined his interests in economics and the environment throughout his degrees. James completed his Master’s dissertation in 2020, which primarily focused on the valuation of ecosystem services and the environment, as well as understanding the measurable and unmeasurable benefits humans derive from nature.
James has a keen interest in sustainability, research and unpacking data. When not in the office, you will find James out in nature or exercising.
