Matthew Dunn


Matthew started  as a research analyst at Cenfri in 2018. Since joining, he has been involved in research around regional payment ecosystems in West and Central Africa as well as scoping of the national payment system in Cote d’Ivoire. He has also done initial research into the demand-side characteristics of remittance recipients in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a view to informing the digitisation of key remittance value chains in the region.

Prior to Cenfri, Matthew worked for the National Power utility, Eskom, where he was involved in the implementation and management of national revenue models and Project Accounting. He subsequently, gained experience as a member of the Monitoring and Evaluation team at Genesis Analytics in the capacity of a Researcher, where he worked on several projects including a Whitepaper review for the South African Department of Transport and a SADC Regional Financial Integration study.

  • Masters in Economics, Stellenbosch University
  • Honours in Economics, University of Cape Town
  • Bachelor of Business Science in Management Studies, University of Cape Town
