Sarah joined Cenfri as a Research Analyst after completing an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Global Development Policy, which took her across the Czech Republic, France and Italy. Upon completion of her studies, she returned to South Africa, fulfilling her long-held intention of forming part of the “reverse brain drain”. She now eagerly applies her multidisciplinary skills and global perspective to Cenfri’s diverse project portfolio.
Her previous experience includes working as a research assistant at Stellenbosch University, where she co-authored a working paper for Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP). She also conducted a research stint in Colombia in preparation of her master’s thesis, where she leveraged local conflict literature and innovative spatial models to analyse the Lake Chad context, focusing on how conflict actor type influences the spatial distribution of violence within the region.
In her personal time, Sarah enjoys board game nights with friends and visiting wine farms with her mum.
